How to Always Improve Yourself: A Guide to Self Betterment and Working on Yourself

You’re at the point where you need to make changes to your life because you’re tired of doing the same things.

You NEED to work on yourself, always improving, or else your life won’t come together. No one’s going to do it for you.

You’re wondering how to get started on your journey toward self betterment and personal growth.

Read until the end because this is a guide on self betterment.

Become the Hungriest Person Alive

Your life should be going in an upward trajectory. There shouldn’t ever be a moment where you “peak.”
Because if you put in the work to improve certain areas of your life then you’ll achieve it. You have to enjoy doing work and disciplining yourself because things don’t get done by accident. Everything is done intentionally and for you to expect results without committing yourself entirely is not realistic.
But it’s pretty simple. You just have to show up every day and want it more than anyone else.
You think of every single reason you NEED to improve your life. You envision all the things you don’t want. Imagine staying in the same position years from now.
That should infuriate you like nothing else.
If you do not feel a certain type of way about your current life then how do you expect to put in that much effort?
If you don’t care about the current circumstances of your situation and how much you DON’T want to live this way anymore…
Then you have to change something.
So whenever you’re putting effort into something, remember that giving up isn’t an option for you.

Discipline and its Role in Everything Meaningful and Valuable

Every journey somewhere begins with a wish.
Nothing in life comes easy. Unless you’re lucky and your parents take care of everything for you.
But then there will come a point where you can’t rely on them anymore. So you need to understand that life is suffering. Life is a battle and you should embrace the challenge.
Prioritizing comfort over purpose in a world like this is foolish because it’ll never happen. Things will always corrode and devolve into chaos. You need to constantly maintain everything in order, which will lead to mental growth and success.
So get used to work and disciplining yourself. Because if you cannot focus on something for more than a couple minutes then it’s impossible to succeed in life.
Because life requires focus and effort. Improving all the parts of your life requires focus and effort. There is no easy way.
The best you can do is accept the world as it is and seek a way to become stronger.
Your whole purpose could be just to improve and push yourself. Literally. That could be your reason to live.
Anything that will make the suffering meaningful is a good step into becoming the strongest version of yourself.
You need to find that because it’s like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Life is always going to have the upper hand, but if we equip ourselves properly. Then we have a fighting chance.
Find a reason to wake up in the morning and commit to always improving, no matter how difficult it may seem. Whatever that reason is. It’s called a purpose.
Equip yourself with purpose so that you can fight life with discipline.

Discovering Who you Are and What Areas to Prioritize

There are areas that everyone is interested in.
To achieve mental growth, focus on areas such as health, relationships, and happiness.
I assume that you want to work on yourself so that you can be valuable to others and attract people to you.
There are many ways to be valuable and not everyone values the same things. Some may prioritize being funny over smart, while others want someone who is capable.
If you want to attract a lot of people, then you must cover all these qualities. You must become a jack of all trades and master at a few of them. Decide what traits you want to embody first. Do you want to work on your charisma or how funny you are? How trustworthy and capable you are?
Everyone values someone who is entertaining, (makes them feel good) trustworthy, (i can depend on you) and capability. (this person is useful to me)
Most relationships are a value exchange, so you must work on self betterment and focus on the things that make people value you.
I’ve never heard of someone who said that their perfect friend would be someone useless, boring, or untrustworthy.
People do assign value to others based on what they give to the world. And a good portion of them won’t hesitate to cut you off once you stop offering value to them. They don’t stick around because they like you or care about you specifically.
So seek out mentors and leverage self-help advice that’s proven to work for personal growth. Specifically, find people who have done the thing you want SUCCESSFULLY and their career is to teach you that certain thing.
You must always invest in yourself by seeking self-help advice from those who have already succeeded. Discipline is easy once you know why you’re doing something.
You must learn from someone who knows more than you about something. Or you can trial and error, but that takes time and it’s inefficient.
You already know what to do concerning health and relationships and if not then educate yourself. The next thing is to take action. And after action, it’s to do it consistently until you achieve your goals.
And goals are the key toward what journey you’ll have. So aim high. It’s more fun when it’s uncertain and you don’t know how to get there. Figuring things out on your own and connecting the dots is incredibly fun. You just need to be patient.
The process of achieving your goals is simple: education, action, and consistency. These three elements are essential for mental growth and success in any area of life.
Those are the three things you need to achieve anything. Anything that helps improve any of those is going to be of massive use.
